Profectum Certificate Programs
Profectum DIR® Trainer Certificate Course (Trainer)
This program allows professionals who have completed the Profectum Certificate Level 2 (CL2) Course or equivalent, to advance to the Trainer level through lectures, discussion groups and practicum experiences training other professionals within Profectum’s programs, including the Level 1 and 2 certificate courses, tutoring, and other settings. In addition, participants will advance their competencies in the DIR model through presentations and discussion of complex developmental and mental health challenges including those of older ages, integration of various approaches necessary to improve long term outcomes, coaching, advocacy, etc.
Group starting on April 17, 2024 with Diane Selinger, PhD (7-9 pm EDT)

This online course introduces DIR®, explores how it works within an interdisciplinary team, and covers how to guide assessment and intervention. The DIR® model builds upon establishing relationships and engagement at any point in development, respecting individual differences from the perspective of occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, mental health, and education.

Profectum’s Certificate Level 2 Course is an online course that utilizes small class sizes and an intensive 9-month process to build on the participant’s knowledge and skills acquired in CL1 and encourages the participant to deepen his or her ability to conceptualize treatment plans within the framework of the model. The course advances each participant’s ability to assess and articulate individual profiles as well as Functional Emotional Developmental Levels (FEDLs), and to use DIR® principles and strategies to foster social-emotional development in a wider range of infants, children, adolescents and adults with developmental challenges.
Group starting on May 14, 2024 with Beth Osten, PhD, OTR/L (7:30-9:30 pm EDT)
