Kathy Walmsley, OTR/L

Kathy Walmsley was the Director and Senior Occupational Therapist with Sensory Connections OTS in Perth, Australia for 17 years up until early 2021. She now works with Early Start Australia who acquired Sensory Connections and additionally in her own private practice in the area of training and parent support. Kathy was awarded a Bachelor of Applied Science in occupational therapy 1983. She completed a graduate certificate in community counseling in 1993, has done post graduate training in developmental disabilities and infant mental health and has worked in a wide variety of different clinical areas over her nearly 40 years of clinical practice. Over the past twenty five years her specialization has been working with families with children with autistic spectrum disorders and sensory regulatory processing disorders using a developmental and relationship based approach. Kathy completed her DIR® model certificate training in 2006, is international faculty of the DIR® model training institute. She has co-presented introductory level DIR® model trainings both in Australia and internationally since 1997.
