Celebrate the Children’s founder, Monica G. Osgood, is an experienced behavioral consultant and therapist who specializes in using developmental approaches to support children with autism and other differences in relating and communicating. She is also the Founder and Director of the Developmental Center for Children and Families (Limitless), a Board Member and founding member of the Profectum Foundation, and a Board Member and founding member of Celebrate the Individual (CTI). Monica has worked in homes, therapy centers, and private and public school settings for over 20 years. Some of her experience has included assessment and the development of intervention programs, curriculum and IEP development, and parent and professional training.

In 1998, Monica created the first public school program with the Developmental Individual Relationship-based (DIR model) approach as the core philosophy. ​In 2000, she was the first educator to join the senior faculty of the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning(ICDL) to provide interdisciplinary training in the DIR model. During her time with ICDL, Monica served as faculty for all of their yearly training institutes, spoke at many of their conferences and had the opportunity to work closely and collaborate with Drs. Greenspan and Wieder to further develop the DIR model in school settings. ​In 2004, she collaborated with Lauren Blaszak to open a state-approved, DIR model school for children ages 3-21 in Denville, New Jersey, now serving over 70 school districts and 150 families.

Additional accomplishments include, many speaking engagements at conferences and participation in television, radio and newspaper interviews across the USA, Wales, Ireland and Amsterdam. Monica has appeared on Welsh Channel 4 and BBC1 documentaries, sharing the DIR model approach with British parents and professionals. Monica and the Celebrate the Children school were featured in a TIME Magazine cover story in May of 2006. ​She serves on the Advisory Board for 3LPlace and the National Advisory Council for The Centers for Exceptional Children​.  Monica also serves on the Economic Development Advisory Council and the Sustainable Economic Development Plan Steering Committee for her local Town Council. Finally, she collaborated with twice Grammy nominated children’s artists Dan Myers and Brady Rymer on an album and music video celebrating diversity in children with all abilities released April 2011.

Mady Kaplan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a specialization in children and families. She is a Certified Early Childhood Group Therapist, a graduate of the Profectum Advanced Clinical Training Program and a Certified Profectum Trainer. Mady conducts individual and group therapy for children and parents at Celebrate the Children school and in private practice. Throughout her career Mady has offered workshops at a variety of national conferences for educators, parents, social workers and other professionals. Mady is delighted to be presenting at the NY/NJ Profectum Conference on Relationships.

Karen McDowell is an educator with over 25 years experience working with the adolescent and young adult population. She is an assistant faculty member of Profectum Foundation and strives to implement a comprehensive developmental curriculum into both her classroom environment and therapy work. As a lead teacher and Young Adult Program Coordinator at Celebrate the Children school for 13 years, she has contributed to innovative curriculum and strategies with the unique needs of individuals in mind while promoting opportunities for growth and development in both group and individual settings. Karen facilitates a weekly young adult group for several years with intensive focus on social and emotional strengths and challenges. Areas of interest and study include executive functioning, visual spatial processing, emotional regulation, and problem solving and she has provided workshops around the country on these developmental areas. Karen strives to provide programs that entice thinking, collaborative problem solving, effective communication, and positive coping strategies to support success, independence, meaningful and fulfilling experiences, and happiness within the demands of the 21st century.

Michele is an occupational therapist, specializing in working with children with autism and sensory processing disorder. She currently works with children and families at her private practice – Great Kids Place – in Rockaway, New Jersey. She has been using and learning the DIR® model for over ten years in her work at Celebrate the Children school. She is a fellow of Dr. Lucy Jane Miller, OTR and faculty of both Profectum and Sensory Processing Disorder Foundation. Michele is DIR® model and SIPT certified with advanced training in visual spatial capacities. She started her therapy career providing consultation to public school districts on infusing sensory integration, visual spatial, and DIR® model goals throughout daily activities and curriculum. She co-developed a unique handwriting program – Connect Experience Write® – that highlights the importance of affective engagement in learning as well as sensory integration using music and movement to teach letter formation and pre-writing skills. Michele is passionate about working with families and other therapists and she continues to do so as a clinician and educator.

Diane Selinger, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst in private practice, who works with children, adolescents and adults. She is a  faculty member of Profectum Academy and of the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis (CCP).  For many years, she was the mental health consultant at Beth Osten and Associates, a multidisciplinary pediatric clinic. She continues to be a mental health consultant at Soaring Eagle Academy and to provide individual and group consultation. 

LouAnne Boyd, MA is a Ph.D. candidate in informatics at UC Irvine, studying the human counter interactions in assertive technologies for ASD. She has 20 years of experience working with children on the autism spectrum and their families. LouAnne was the principal investigator of the empirical study of the use of a collaborative iPad game, Zody to increase social interactions in autistic individuals.

Mona M. Delahooke, PhD is a clinical psychologist specializing in the development of infants, young children, and their families. She has received training as an infant mental health specialist, and works widely with multi-disciplinary teams supporting children with developmental or emotional delays. She is a faculty member of the Early Intervention Training Institute (EITI) of the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic. She is a senior faculty member and mental health working group Co-Chair of the Profectum Foundation. She also provides training to personnel in the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and agencies across the country. Lauren Blaszak is one of the Co-Founders and Executive Directors of Celebrate the Children school. Lauren has extensive experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disorders for over 14 years. Prior to starting the school in 2004 in collaboration with Monica Osgood, Lauren worked as a behavioral consultant to public school districts in New Jersey and New York. In addition, her experience includes parent support and training, social skills training, supervision of home programs, supervisor of instructional teams and supporting public schools in learning about and integrating DIR® into the mainstream. She also works collaboratively with other organizations and professionals in terms of education and research of Autism and related disorders. Her accomplishments include speaking engagements at national and local conferences, as well as participation in television, radio, and newspaper interviews and publications.Lauren Blaszak is one of the Co-Founders and Executive Directors of Celebrate the Children school. Amy Pinder, MA, CCC-SLP is a New Jersey State licensed and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist with over ten years of experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental differences. Amy graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges where she received her BA in Sociology and Special Education, and from Kean University where she received her MA in Speech Language Pathology. She has experience assessing and treating children and adults with diverse communication challenges in a variety of settings including home-based intervention, preschool, public school and specialized private programs. Amy is passionate about identifying and implementing innovative, integrative and effective language learning strategies for individuals with autism. She uses a person-centered approach that spans cognitive, linguistic, sensory-motor, social and emotional domains. She has received training in DIR/Floortime, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Masgutova's Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI), and PROMPT therapy. Amy is also a Grounded Kids Yoga Instructor and Holistic Circus Therapy Provider. She incorporates joyful, regulatory, and play-based movement into her practice to insight intrinsic motivation for clients to engage, explore, increase capacities, and effectively communicate.

Dr. Serena Wieder is the Clinical Director and a founding member of the Profectum Foundation, dedicated to advancing the development and mental health of children, of all ages, including adolescents and adults with neurodivergent development and emotional challenges through interdisciplinary training and educational programs. She also co-founded the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders and was a Board Member of Zero to Three for 23 years. Dr. Wieder serves on various advisory boards to various programs serving infant mental health and other special needs.  Dr. Wieder also founded DIR-Israel, a training program that offers DIR Certificates, and provides consultation and training to many international and national programs.

As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Wieder has pioneered important approaches to diagnosing and treating infants and toddlers with infant mental health and developmental disorders.  She co-created the DIR Model with Stanley Greenspan, edited two diagnostic manuals for infants and young children. Further, she created models for interdisciplinary post-graduate case based training and pioneered parent-mediated intervention for parents of neurodivergent children.

Dr. Wieder has co-chaired and organized national and international conferences integrating development, neuroscience and intervention approaches for over 20 years. Dr. Wieder also developed approaches to integrate visual-spatial knowledge to advance emotional and cognitive development.  Her research interests concern follow up studies of children on the autism spectrum who received DIR model interventions and the evaluation of training and educational programs. In addition, she serves as adjunct faculty at various universities including Bank Street , UCS Davis IMH Fellowship Program, and Adelphi.

Amongst her many publications Dr. Wieder co-authored Engaging Autism, The Child With Special Needs and Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health with Stanley Greenspan, M.D. They also co-edited Infants in Multi-Risk Families as well as the ICDL Diagnostic Manual for Infants and Young Children (DMIC)/ She edited the original Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood (DC 0-3) for Zero-Three. . Her chapters on the DIR Model appear in major textbooks on Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Wieder also co- authored Visual Spatial Portals to Thinking, Feeling, and Movement with Harry Wachs, O.D. She has published numerous journal and book chapters and presents at multiple conferences nationally and internationally.

At this time, Dr. Serena Wieder also has a private practice in NYC for diagnosis, treatment and consultation regarding complex developmental and mental health challenges.

Cindy is a Speech Language Pathologist and President and CEO of ACT Learning Centre. Cindy's area of clinical focus is the provision of assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorder, disorders of relating and communicating, intellectual disabilities, global developmental delays. 
Cindy is also Senior Faculty for Profectum and has taught in Profectum’s Training Program educating occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, psychologists, educators and physicians in the use of the DIR model in their practice settings. Cindy is a well-known public speaker who trains and educates clinicians and parents in North America and abroad.
Cindy believes that it is essential to make parents an integral part of intervention and that together with the therapists, parents should be seen as “co-quarterbacks” in the treatment process.
Cindy holds Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Vermont. She is very active in her community and serves on a number of Boards and community associations.

Ricki Robinson, MD, MPH. is co-director of Descanso Medical Center for Development and Learning in La Canada, California and a clinical professor of pediatrics at the Keck School Medicine of USC. She has been in private pediatric practice for nearly forty years, specializing in children with autism and developmental delays for over twenty-five years.

Dr. Robinson received her MD degree in 1973 from the University of Southern California. She trained in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, having served as Chief Pediatric Resident for CHLA in 1976. She is board certified in pediatrics. In 1988 she received her MPH from the University at Berkeley School of Public Health.

She has been actively involved in the field of autism since 1990, developing multidisciplinary educational and medical programs for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and devoting endless hours in education, legislation and research efforts on a national level. Dr. Robinson has been at the forefront of leading grassroots autism organizations. She was a founding board member of Cure Autism Now (now Autism Speaks) and the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders (ICDL), and most recently Profectum Foundation. She was a member of the Autism Speaks Scientific Review Panel for over eight years. Dr. Robinson organized and chaired the first nationally recognized task force to define the standard of care for clinical trials in autism. The results of this outstanding effort were published in CNS Spectrums (January 2004, Vol. 9, #1). Most recently she was appointed as Medical Director of Profectum Foundation, an organization devoted to providing multi-disciplinary education and training for parents, families and professionals working with individuals with ASD across the lifespan.

A nationally sought-after expert, she has appeared on the Today Show, The Talk, Larry King Live and Good Morning America Health in support of the needs of children and families with autism spectrum disorders. She is an internationally recognized speaker addressing the needs of children with autism and other developmental delays to parent, professional and lay audiences worldwide for the past two decades. She is also the author of the acclaimed book Autism Solutions – How to Create a Healthy and Meaningful Life for Your Child. 

My name is Anie Knipping, and I'm a social autistic, a layabout with Panic/Anxiety Disorder, and a terminal optimist with clinical depression. My sensory stuff is all over the place, and I've got synesthesia, which lets me see sound and taste colour. I love to educate people on all of it, but it's not always easy to explain without pictures, so I published an illustrated book, 'Eccentricity', to do just that.

Christie Virtue, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and a senior faculty member for Profectum. She received her Ph.D. from Teachers College, Columbia University. For over 20 years she was the Director of Early Intervention and Preschool Services for Hudson River HealthCare in Peekskill, N.Y., which provided multidisciplinary assessments and treatment of children birth through five. Prior to her work with young children she was the Co-Director of the Adolescent Depression and Suicide Program at Montefiore Hospital/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She currently has a private practice in Northern Westchester specializing in the assessment of children with neurodevelopmental challenges.

Susan Smith-Foley, OTD, MPA, OTR/L is the Clinical Director of Positive Development’s Cherry Hill and Lakewood, NJ Therapy Centers. She has expertise on the provision of transdisciplinary DIR®/DRBI services and frequently lectures on this topic. Susan is passionate about integrating the DIR® model into school and community settings. She completed a post-professional doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy (OTD) at The University of Kansas Medical Center in December 2018. Susan is a Senior Faculty member of Profectum Academy.

Deena Glassenberg has been a special education teacher in a DIR public preschool classroom in Lakewood, New Jersey since 2011. Throughout her teaching career, she has been utilizing the DIR framework within the public school setting in collaboration with classroom occupational, physical and speech therapists. Deena has her master’s degree in special education (K-12) from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona and the New Jersey P-3 Early Childhood Certificate from Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey. During this past school year, Deena was nominated as the Lakewood school district’s teacher of the year.

Aviva Katz is currently a special educator in a preschool classroom in the public school district of Lakewood, N.J. She received her Masters Degree in special education from Mercy College in 2010 while living in Brooklyn, N.Y. Aviva was first introduced to the DIR Model as a paraprofessional in a self-contained private preschool program in Brooklyn. During the 2012-2013 school year she attended the Profectum Basic Training Course.Thus began a multi-year career of consistently implementing the Floortime time method with the many children she worked with in 1:1 settings and in the classroom setting. Aviva is currently in her fourth school year of teaching in the Lakewood school district where, along with supervisors, co-workers and a therapy team, she has developed an authentic classroom structure of DIR fundamentals within the framework of a district-based special education preschool classroom.

I have been working in the field of special education for the past 11 years. I spent a year in a self- contained middle school classroom, I was in self-contained preschool classrooms in a private school for two years, and have been a teacher in a self-contained preschool classroom in Lakewood, NJ public schools for the past eight years. I worked in collaboration with my supervisor, co-teachers, and other therapists and consultants to incorporate the DIR model into the public school classroom. It has been a welcome challenge, for I could not imagine teaching any other way. I believe that children learn and progress naturally through play and when strongly emotionally connected to what they are doing and their play partner. By fully understanding, connecting with, and supporting each student, by gathering knowledge and skills to help them overcome their individual challenges, and by working as a team together with their parents and all other disciplines, we have been able to see constant, significant progress with our students.

Heni Mozes is the Early Childhood Supervisor for the Lakewood Board of Education since 2014. After spending a decade in the classroom and then working as a master teacher for the school district, she understands the culture and dynamic of the public school system. She combines this with her deep understanding of early childhood development and individual differences to create programs that can meet the diverse needs of students within the public schools.

Liza Marshall Kali, MSHS, BS OTR/L is an accomplished Occupational Therapist with over 17 years experience in multiple settings. After 10 years in the field, she co-founded Jumpstart Therapy, LLC and in 2008 joined Celebrate the Children (CTC) in Wharton, New Jersey. She is also a consultant with the Developmental Center for Children and Families (DCCF) in Budd Lake, NJ. Liza has been a guest lecturer at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association’s annual conference, Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, and many other schools and programs. Liza’s passion for visual spatial evaluation & treatment began in 1995 when she worked extensively with Dr. Vincent Vicci, OD on an interdisciplinary team that developed Kessler Institute’s Vision Clinic and more recently expanded her knowledge during the course of many consultations and trainings with Dr. Harry Wachs at CTC. Liza has completed multiple DIR®/Floortime™ courses through Profectum as well as the International Council on Development and Learning. She is an Intermediate DIR® clinician and is an active DIR® certification candidate through Profectum. In 1995, Liza received her Occupational Therapy degree from Elizabethtown College, and has since completed a post-professional Master’s Degree in movement science from Seton Hall University Graduate Medical School in 2001.

Dr. Leonard J. Press formerly served as Chief of the Pediatric Unit of The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. He was recruited to the State University of New York's College of Optometry to serve as Chief of the Vision Therapy Service. He left academia after 20 years to serve as the Optometric Director of the Vision and Learning Center in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Dr. Press works extensively with occupational therapists, educators, and parent groups in helping parents understand the relationship between vision and learning, and opportunities for therapy to help children succeed. Dr. Press has been recognized internationally for his work in the field of vision development. Heis co-author of several Clinical Practice Guidelines in this area for the American Optometric Association. Dr. Press is the author of a monograph on Computers and Vision Therapy Programs, and on Parallels between Auditory and Visual Processing. He is the author of three major textbooks: “Clinical Pediatric Optometry”, “Applied Concepts in Vision Therapy”, and “Clinical Pearls in Refractive Care”. The textbook that Dr. Press wrote on vision therapy is the primary reference used by therapists and doctors from around the world who are preparing for board certification in vision therapy through the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD). Dr. Press served is a Diplomat in the Pediatric Optometry/Binocular Vision and Perception Section of the American Academy of Optometry, and is Board Certified in Visual Development and Therapy. Dr. Press currently serves as a consultant on visual disabilities for the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME).

Lynn Abelson is a speech-language pathologist at Therapy Associates, and early intervention system comprehensive agency. She provides speech-language intervention to neurodiverse toddlers in their home and daycare settings and partners with their caregivers. Lynn also provides private DIR®-based speech-language intervention to children with developmental differences and works closely with their families. She has extensive experience in DIR® program development, leadership, and staff training at The Phoenix Center, a special education school that serves students ages 5-21. She was a speech language specialist and DIR® program manager at this school for 19 years. Additionally, Lynn is a Senior Faculty member of Profectum and a member of its Faculty Promotion Committee.

Susan Smith-Foley, OTD, MPA, OTR/L is the Clinical Director of Positive Development’s Cherry Hill and Lakewood, NJ Therapy Centers. She has expertise on the provision of transdisciplinary DIR®/DRBI services and frequently lectures on this topic. Susan is passionate about integrating the DIR® model into school and community settings. Board Certified Neuropsychologist / Deborah Budding is a board certified neuropsychologist practicing in Manhattan Beach who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She has a background in literature and magazine publishing prior to earning a Ph.D. in psychology. She is co-author of “Subcortical Structures and Cognition: Implications for Neuropsychological Assessment,” which was published in 2008, as well as multiple book chapters and peer-reviewed articles. She co-authored a consensus paper about the cerebellum’s role in both movement and cognition, which was published in 2013. She has a strong interest in neuroscience, art, and video games, not necessarily in that order. Along with colleagues Dana Chidekel, Ph.D., and Jayme Jones, Ph.D., Dr. Budding provides training and education for professionals and parents through Theory in Practice, Inc. She is a training faculty member at Harbor UCLA. She has particular interest in the cerebellum’s contributions to non-motor function, in brain-behavior relationships in neurodevelopmental disorders, and in finding ways to amplify the voices of women and people of color in science education.

Ricki Robinson, MD, MPH. is co-director of Descanso Medical Center for Development and Learning in La Canada, California and a clinical professor of pediatrics at the Keck School Medicine of USC. She has been in private pediatric practice for nearly forty years, specializing in children with autism and developmental delays for over twenty-five years.

Dr. Robinson received her MD degree in 1973 from the University of Southern California. She trained in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, having served as Chief Pediatric Resident for CHLA in 1976. She is board certified in pediatrics. In 1988 she received her MPH from the University at Berkeley School of Public Health.

She has been actively involved in the field of autism since 1990, developing multidisciplinary educational and medical programs for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and devoting endless hours in education, legislation and research efforts on a national level. Dr. Robinson has been at the forefront of leading grassroots autism organizations. She was a founding board member of Cure Autism Now (now Autism Speaks) and the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders (ICDL), and most recently Profectum Foundation. She was a member of the Autism Speaks Scientific Review Panel for over eight years. Dr. Robinson organized and chaired the first nationally recognized task force to define the standard of care for clinical trials in autism. Dr. Joshua Feder is a child and family psychiatrist with a clinical practice in Solana Beach, California. Associate Clinical Professor at University of California at San Diego School of Medicine, and Senior Expert with the Early Years. Dr. Feder conducts research and trains clinicians to promote regulation, social communication, and learning and he is engaged in peace building through support of early childhood development in conflict regions. Dr. Feder advocates nationally and internationally on issues related to peace building, informed consent, and evidence based practices, and he serves as Medical Director at SymPlay, developing interactive technology and distance learning systems to support relationship-based interventions. Profectum Senior Faculty Sima Gerber is a professor of speech-language pathology in the Department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders of Queens College, City University of New York. Dr. Gerber has over 40 years of clinical experience, specializing in the treatment of children with autistic spectrum disorders. Dr. Gerber is on the faculty of Profectum and the Advisory Board of the New York Zero-to-Three Network. Dr. Serena Wieder is the Clinical Director and a founding member of the Profectum Foundation, dedicated to advancing the development and mental health of children, of all ages, including adolescents and adults with neurodivergent development and emotional challenges through interdisciplinary training and educational programs. She also co-founded the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders and was a Board Member of Zero to Three for 23 years. Dr. Wieder serves on various advisory boards to various programs serving infant mental health and other special needs.  Dr. Wieder also founded DIR-Israel, a training program that offers DIR Certificates, and provides consultation and training to many international and national programs.

As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Wieder has pioneered important approaches to diagnosing and treating infants and toddlers with infant mental health and developmental disorders.  She co-created the DIR Model with Stanley Greenspan, edited two diagnostic manuals for infants and young children. Further, she created models for interdisciplinary post-graduate case based training and pioneered parent-mediated intervention for parents of neurodivergent children.

Richard Solomon, MD, is a practicing developmental and behavioral pediatrician, the Medical Director at The Ann Arbor Center for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, and founder of The PLAY Project. He is board certified in pediatrics and developmental and behavioral pediatrics and has been diagnosing and treating children with autism spectrum disorders for over 25 years. With a reputation as the “fun” doctor, Rick is known for his ability to make children smile and laugh, calming their fears and building trust. Lisa trained under Serena Wieder, PhD, and the late Stanley Greenspan, MD. She was previously on faculty with the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders (ICDL) and was an Associate Professor with the ICDL Graduate PhD program in Early Childhood Development. Lisa has presented at national Profectum and ICDL training symposiums, in addition to regional agency, school and university speaking engagements related to child and parent development. Karen McDowell is an educator with over 25 years experience working with the adolescent and young adult population. She is an assistant faculty member of Profectum Foundation and strives to implement a comprehensive developmental curriculum into both her classroom environment and therapy work. As a lead teacher and Young Adult Program Coordinator at Celebrate the Children school for 13 years, she has contributed to innovative curriculum and strategies with the unique needs of individuals in mind while promoting opportunities for growth and development in both group and individual settings. Karen facilitates a weekly young adult group for several years with intensive focus on social and emotional strengths and challenges. Areas of interest and study include executive functioning, visual spatial processing, emotional regulation, and problem solving and she has provided workshops around the country on these developmental areas. Karen strives to provide programs that entice thinking, collaborative problem solving, effective communication, and positive coping strategies to support success, independence, meaningful and fulfilling experiences, and happiness within the demands of the 21st century.

Ron Balamuth is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst and a graduate of the New York University post doctoral program in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. He is on the faculty and a supervisor at the William Alanson White Institute Child and adolescent training program, the National Institute for the Psychotherapies and Columbia University Teacher’s College Program in Clinical Psychology. Natalie Kitts holds a Masters of Science from Kean University, and is a licensed occupational therapist. She has extensive continuing education including advanced training in Sensory Integration Theory and Intervention, and a Professionals Certificate in the DIR Model and Foundational Capacities for Development (FCD). Natalie is passionate about helping children with developmental differences thrive and reach their potential, including supporting her own son overcome many of the challenges of Asperger’s Syndrome. She is strongly committed to supporting and helping families survive the struggles of raising a child who is “differently abled”. Natalie has worked as a pediatric occupational therapist in public school, private practice and early intervention since 2012. Her passion to help children drives her to share her experiences and educate others through workshops and professional presentations. She has previously presented on Dyslexia and Executive Function, Self-Regulation and Executive Function, and The Occupational Therapist’s Role in College Transition Services for Students with ASD. Richard Solomon, MD, is a practicing developmental and behavioral pediatrician, the Medical Director at The Ann Arbor Center for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, and founder of The PLAY Project. He is board certified in pediatrics and developmental and behavioral pediatrics and has been diagnosing and treating children with autism spectrum disorders for over 25 years. With a reputation as the “fun” doctor, Rick is known for his ability to make children smile and laugh, calming their fears and building trust. Ricki Robinson, MD, MPH. is co-director of Descanso Medical Center for Development and Learning in La Canada, California and a clinical professor of pediatrics at the Keck School Medicine of USC. She has been in private pediatric practice for nearly forty years, specializing in children with autism and developmental delays for over twenty-five years.

Dr. Robinson received her MD degree in 1973 from the University of Southern California. She trained in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, having served as Chief Pediatric Resident for CHLA in 1976. She is board certified in pediatrics. Ruby Moye Salazar is a child and family consultant and developmental therapist as well as an internationally recognized expert in early childhood development and autism.

Mrs. Salazar founded Pennsylvania Lifespan Services in 1980, a family-focused trans-displinary developmental practice providing psycho-social-developmental services for children and families.

She has worked in the office of three PA governors in child-care policy, was appointed to the Pennsylvania Governor’s Council for Children and the PA Department of Welfare Workgroup to establish Autism Assessment Policy and clinically directed both the ASD Comprehensive Assessment  Project and  the PA Department of Early Intervention Reflective Supervision Project. Proudly, Mrs. Salazar chaired then-candidate Barack Obama’s first Autism Workgroup who drafted the bill which became ASD Federal Law.

Profectum Senior Faculty Sima Gerber is a professor of speech-language pathology in the Department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders of Queens College, City University of New York. Dr. Gerber has over 40 years of clinical experience, specializing in the treatment of children with autistic spectrum disorders. Dr. Gerber is on the faculty of Profectum and the Advisory Board of the New York Zero-to-Three Network. Rosemary White has been an occupational therapist since 1972 and brings a wealth of clinical experience to every workshop she teaches throughout the United States and internationally in Canada, Europe, South Africa, Uganda and Australia. Rosemary is a true clinician’s clinician! Rosemary received her neurodevelopmental therapy training in London with the Bobaths, her sensory integrative therapy training in Los Angeles with Dr. A Jean Ayres and her training in the DIRFloortime® model with Stanley Greenspan and Serena Wieder, Ph.D. and the Faculty of ICDL. She currently owns and operates Pediatric Physical and Occupational Therapy Services in Seattle, Washington. Rosemary has her certificate in the DIR® model and has been senior faculty on the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disabilities (ICDL) chaired by Stanley Greenspan, M.D. and Serena Wieder, Ph.D., since 2002. Rosemary is on the clinical faculty at the University of Washington in the School of Nursing Infant Mental Health Certificate Program. Rosemary is also faculty in the ICDL Graduate School in the Ph.D. in infant and early childhood mental health and developmental disorders. George McCloskey, PhD is a Professor and Director of School Psychology Research in the Psychology Department of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He frequently presents at national, regional and state meetings on cognitive and neuropsychological assessment and intervention topics. Dr. McCloskey consults with a number of school districts and private schools in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and California on issues related to improving students’ self-regulation capacities in the classroom, behavior management, assessment and intervention for executive functions difficulties related to academic and behavior problems, balanced literacy reading and writing instruction, and implementation of RTI. Dr. McCloskey is the lead author of Assessment and Intervention for Executive Function Difficulties and author of Essentials of Executive Functions Assessment. Dr. McCloskey also has been involved in test development and publishing activities for more than 25 years. He directed the development of the WISC-IV Integrated and was a Senior Research Director and the Clinical Advisor to the Wechsler Test Development Group for The Psychological Corporation (now part of Pearson) and Associate Director of Test Development for AGS (now Pearson).

Karen McDowell is an educator with over 25 years experience working with the adolescent and young adult population. She is an assistant faculty member of Profectum Foundation and strives to implement a comprehensive developmental curriculum into both her classroom environment and therapy work. As a lead teacher and Young Adult Program Coordinator at Celebrate the Children school for 13 years, she has contributed to innovative curriculum and strategies with the unique needs of individuals in mind while promoting opportunities for growth and development in both group and individual settings. Karen facilitates a weekly young adult group for several years with intensive focus on social and emotional strengths and challenges. Areas of interest and study include executive functioning, visual spatial processing, emotional regulation, and problem solving and she has provided workshops around the country on these developmental areas. Karen strives to provide programs that entice thinking, collaborative problem solving, effective communication, and positive coping strategies to support success, independence, meaningful and fulfilling experiences, and happiness within the demands of the 21st century.

Steve brings a unique, granular, perspective focusing most of his 33-year career with the NYC Department of Education helping students with disabilities transition from school to careers and college. Credited for creating and providing expertise to best practice programs, partnerships and school restructure initiatives, Steve has a master’s degree in Special Education and a second master’s degree in Education Administration with a specialty in Education Law and holds multiple teaching and administrative licenses in both New York and New Jersey including Superintendent of Schools. Steve is Vice President of Education and Neurodiversity Employment Specialist for Identifor, the world’s first career assessment tool that uses app and computer games to systematically uncover underlying strengths and unique abilities of teens and young adults with ASD and other intellectual disabilities and match them with relevant career options, and using an international award winning advanced AI-based, 24/7 Companion, helps support them with a wide-range of life management needs. Steve is board member, guest university lecturer, and an international speaker that travels throughout the US showing young adults, parents, teachers, child study teams, clinicians and agency representatives and employers specific ways to help those transitioning to “real life” reach their highest potential once the school bus stops coming. With 3 children, including a 21-year-old daughter with a severe development disorder, another with a moderate disability and a freshly minted material science engineer, Steve knows first-hand what it’s like to raise his own transition aged children.

Dr. Connie Kasari is a professor of Psychiatry at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a leading international expert in developing interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Her research focuses on targeted interventions for early social communication development in at-risk infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with autism, and peer relationships for school-aged children with autism, leading to the recognition of her therapy JASPER as an established evidence-based ASD treatment. Much of this work involves populations that have traditionally been understudied and underrepresented in research, including low-resourced children and minimally verbal children. Her work is often conducted in schools. She has published widely on topics related to social, emotional, and communication development and intervention in autism. Dr. Kasari has been the primary advisor to more than 60 UCLA Ph.D. students, is on the science advisory boards of Autism Speaks and the Mount Sinai Seaver Autism Center, and regularly presents to both academic and practitioner audiences locally, nationally, and internationally.

Ricki Robinson, MD, MPH. is co-director of Descanso Medical Center for Development and Learning in La Canada, California and a clinical professor of pediatrics at the Keck School Medicine of USC. She has been in private pediatric practice for nearly forty years, specializing in children with autism and developmental delays for over twenty-five years.

Dr. Robinson received her MD degree in 1973 from the University of Southern California. She trained in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, having served as Chief Pediatric Resident for CHLA in 1976. She is board certified in pediatrics. In 1988 she received her MPH from the University at Berkeley School of Public Health.

She has been actively involved in the field of autism since 1990, developing multidisciplinary educational and medical programs for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and devoting endless hours in education, legislation and research efforts on a national level. Dr. Robinson has been at the forefront of leading grassroots autism organizations. She was a founding board member of Cure Autism Now (now Autism Speaks) and the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders (ICDL), and most recently Profectum Foundation. She was a member of the Autism Speaks Scientific Review Panel for over eight years. Dr. Robinson organized and chaired the first nationally recognized task force to define the standard of care for clinical trials in autism. The results of this outstanding effort were published in CNS Spectrums (January 2004, Vol. 9, #1). Most recently she was appointed as Medical Director of Profectum Foundation, an organization devoted to providing multi-disciplinary education and training for parents, families and professionals working with individuals with ASD across the lifespan.
