Susan Smith-Foley, MA, OTR/L
Susan Smith-Foley is a pediatric occupational therapist who has clinical expertise in school-based practice for well over 20 years, providing both comprehensive evaluations and intervention for student’s ages 3 – 21 years. She is the coordinator of OT services for the Lakewood Board of Education in Lakewood, New Jersey. Susan has provided extensive parent and professional trainings on sensory processing disorder; the DIR Floortime® and utilization of sensory diet interventions in the home and school environments. She is certified to administer and interpret the sensory integration and praxis tests. Susan is a member of the New Jersey Occupational Therapy Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association. She achieved specialty certification in pediatric occupational therapy from the American Occupational Therapy Association in 1995 and 2000. Susan assisted in normative data collection for the Peabody Developmental Motor Scales – Second Edition, 1997 – 1998. She was selected to be a Member of the Occupational Therapy Advisory Council for the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2009 – Present. Susan is currently the co-leader of the DIR Floortime® coalition of New Jersey. She is a provider of DIR model tutoring services. Susan is also the founder and owner of Avon Occupational Therapy, Inc., a private OT practice devoted to the individualized needs of children and families in Avon, New Jersey.
