Tal Baz, MS, OTR/L is a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist who has practiced as a DIRFloortime® therapist, supervisor and consultant for more than fifteen years and works both nationally and internationally with families, clinicians, and various school systems. She has a clinical practice in Somerville, MA, and is teaching DIRFloortime® courses through the Profectum Foundation, nationally as well as internationally. Her special interests are in sensory-affective regulation, as it develops within the parent-child relational field. Tal has served on the DIR Faculty since 2001.
Mona M. Delahooke, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in the development of infants, children, and their families. She has received specialized training as an infant mental health specialist, and works widely with multi-disciplinary teams supporting children with developmental or emotional delays. She is a faculty member of the Early Intervention Training Institute (EITI) of the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic. She is a senior faculty member and Mental Health Working Group Co-Chair of the Profectum Foundation. Dr. Delahooke also provides training to personnel in the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and the Westside Infant Family Network. Currently in private practice in Arcadia, California, she consults with parents, preschools, regional centers and school districts in the areas of developmental screening, assessment and intervention for children and their families.
Dr. Sheila Anderson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Child and Family Studies at Weber State University. She has worked in the field of early childhood for over 20 years, as a classroom teacher, program director, university faculty, and researcher. Her scholarly work focuses on the effects of early fathering on child development in diverse families. She received a Head Start Student Scholar award for her dissertation to develop a measure of positive early father-child interaction to be used by Early Head Start home visitors. She currently serves as a cochair for the state Bureau of Child Development advisory council tasked with coordinating early childhood systems to ensure all young children in the state receive ongoing developmental screening and appropriate intervention services.

This exciting panel discussion will include first hand reflections from film-maker Erik Linthorst about the father’s journey. Erik will provide footage of several fathers who candidly share about their personal experiences with their children with developmental differences. The panel, including Kevin Hamilton, a student at Taft College, TIL Program and his father Craig. Kevin will speak about his recollections of his relationship with his father, as well as his experiences living at college as a special needs individual. Kevin and his father Craig will also answer written questions from the audience. We will engage in discussion about how the father factor goes beyond gender stereotypes to the range of joyful human experiences that support the essential need for engaged and strong relationships.
