The Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship-based (DIR®) approach is an evidence-based
intervention that respects each child’s unique developmental profile while building capacities for relating, communicating and thinking through emotionally meaningful experiences. This workshop introduces
participants to the basics of using the DIR-FCD™ model with middle and high school students and how fostering the Foundational Capacities for Development (FCD) maximizes development. Video examples will illustrate Floortime™ with students one-on-one and in group settings. The integration of DIR-FCD™ principles into semi-structured lessons will also be demonstrated.
