Amy Pinder, MA, CCC-SLP is a New Jersey State licensed and ASHA certified speech-language pathologist who started her career as a special education teacher and has over ten years of experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental differences. Amy graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges where she received her BA in Sociology in addition to New York State Teaching Certification in Elementary and Special Education, and from Kean University where she received her MA in speech-language pathology. She works primarily with children and adults on the autism spectrum using a holistic, person-centered approach that spans cognitive, linguistic, sensory-motor, social and emotional domains. She has received training in DIRFloortime®, Svetlana Masgutova’s Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI) protocols, Prompts for Restructuring Oral Motor Phonetic Targets (PROMPT) therapy and the Rapid Prompting Method (RPM). Amy is also trained as a Grounded Kids Yoga Instructor, Mindfulness Educator, and Holistic Circus Therapy Provider. She regularly incorporates joyful, regulatory, and play-based movement such as yoga, juggling, and hula hoop dance into her practice to motivate clients to engage, explore, increase capacities, and effectively communicate. She is also the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Inclusion Festival, the nation’s first autism/sensory-friendly music, arts, yoga, and wellness festival for individuals with and without special needs.
